### Why is my ranking different from what I see in Google?

Google personalises results by location, device, search history and time of day. This tool checks a neutral, non-personalised US desktop search, which is the closest thing to a fair baseline. Your own browser will often show your site higher than it really ranks for everyone else.

### What does "not in the top 50" mean?

Google either doesn't have a page from your site that matches the keyword, or ranks it below position 50. Either way you're getting no traffic for it. Publish a page that targets the keyword directly, or strengthen the closest existing page with more depth and internal links.

### How often should I check my website ranking?

Weekly is plenty. Rankings wobble day to day, and a single check only tells you where you stood at that moment. Track the trend over weeks instead, and act on pages that sit on page 2 - they are the fastest to move.

### Is this website rank checker really free?
